Artistic Portland will celebrate Cinco de Mayo between 4-7 p.m. on May 5, 2016 for the First Thursday Art Walk. Many of the member artists will be present to answer questions about their unique artistic vision. Visitors can find unique, locally made, handcrafted items for which the 50-member Art Co-operative is known. This is the perfect opportunity to find something for that special person for Mother’s Day that is on May 8th.
There will be refreshments inspired by the holiday and spirits provided by Wild Roots Vodka (wildrootsvodka.com). Wild Roots Vodka contains over one pound of locally sourced fruit in each bottle; their specialties are red raspberry, Oregon marionberry and Washington apple cinnamon.
In addition to finished art, the Co-op also offers art classes in April and May including Introduction to Weaving with Sherry Bingaman (4/21, 28 and 5/12 and 26); Product Photography with Michaela Houston (4/23); Make A Mother’s Day Card with Michaela Houston (5/1); and Crayon Meditation with Ben Gilbert (5/11).
Artistic Portland initially opened its doors in the Hollywood District in May 2013 and then expanded to its current 2,700 sqft. location at 318 SW Taylor Street in Downtown Portland on June 1, 2015.
