Resources for local help - 8 year old boy with no Christmas presents!

Hi, I just recently had to rent a basement from a friends mom for a temporary solution due to a recent separation. The lady I'm renting from is in her 70's and on a fixed income and she has a son who is in his 50's and he has an 8 year old son. Her son and grandson just recently got evicted from their apartment and so the 8 year old has come to stay with his grandmother until they can find a place to live, The dad comes around ever so often to see his son, eat, shower and try to bum money off his mother for his addictions ( He isn't working ) and then splits. So this family has some issues, most brought on by addictions. The grandmother is a major alcoholic, her son is a drug addict and addicted to video poker, so any spare cash is gone in an instant. So here it is, just a few days before x-mas and the kid has no presents under the tree ( and I mean 0 ). I've reached out to my family and friends for help and have managed to gather up a few gifts, but it seems being this close to the big day everyone is broke and can't do much towards helping. I've been online most of the day trying to find some local resources that might be able to help out, but most require that you provide them with proof of low income and other paper work that I can not provide and I do not feel comfortable approaching his family for the documents needed as I just might be told to stay out of it and mind my own business. The kid has been through enough in his short life ( DHS, Foster Care, Bounced around from place to place ) and I'm only hoping to give him a nice Christmas this year since everything else in his life is full of unknowns and problems. He is the nicest kid ever, smart as can be and I'm so amazed that he doesn't have any more issues then he does considering what he has already been through. So I'm someone out there can point me in a direction where I can help so this child can have a decent x-mas, but unfortunately, it will need to be done discreetly. I can't have some organization showing up here with donations as I know the grandmother for sure would not like it or allow it due to the old pride standards she lives by. So, if anyone can give me some tips, links, advice, resources, I would greatly appreciate it. Of course, time is a huge factor and I'm hoping I'm not acting to late to make this happen, but I just realized that there is not much of anything going under his tree before x-mas. Thank you all so much in advance. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
